City Council jet washes estates mini roundabout (still dirty)
Royal visit “my arse?”
The only royalty I want to see in and around Sandyford Fire Station is Jim Royle at least he would be half the cost. How much money is this event going to cost the tax payer, no doubt the council will chip in sending a few well known dignitaries to kiss the royal backside?
When the council send out their team of litter pickers let’s hope that they venture further afield than just Focus car park and the top end of R.M.W, let’s hope that they come onto the estate and tidy up the open-space, replace all the broken fences, get up all the dog poo and give the mini roundabout a well deserved make over. You never know we may even get the notice board we were promised and the whole estate adopted.
The above was posted over a week ago and Hay presto the council have been out today and jet washed the mini roundabout is this to do with the royal visit or has all the estate been adopted.

when we were trying to get the council to help out with jet washing the planes on the banks they said there was no money for it.
perhaps the planes will be jet washed now ,

Amazing for the second day on the trot the council have been jet washing the mini roundabout (WHY)? Has anyone else noticed that the R.M.W sign post has also been replaced what next are they going to paint the Spitfire. It’s amazing what can be done when royalty pay the city a visit I fully expect the Police to close R.M.W so H.R.H does not have to risk life and limb negotiating the Focus roundabout race track after his visit.
Funny you should mention the
Funny you should mention the spitfires, I too had the same thought wondered if they would get a spruce up as well.

I really couldn't tell they'd done the roundabout yesterday Bryn mate, that's why I flagged you down.
Just out of interest, was there one to do the work, and two to watch?

Hope you don't mind, but I've added some photos to your post to show people how much a 3 man team (1 health and safety, 1 supervisor, 1 worker) can clean up a roundabout after 3 days.
glad the clean spitfire was
glad the clean spitfire was pointed out on the 3rd photo, does look so much better than the uncleaned one, but still work to do on it,
as the weather will be warming up the next spitfire clean up will hopefully be organised-
Look what you've done now!
Look what you've done now! "Unfortunately HRH Earl of Wessex has had to postpone his visit to Sandyford Community Fire Station, Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday 8th March 2011"
You've scared him off
Does this mean the roundabout can go back to being neglected now?
