hi everyone,
just to let you know that we (the Workers' Educational Association health project) are starting some fitness sessions with the new Fire Station at Sandyford, a great chance to come and try out all the new equipment. We're starting them as taster sessions and if we have enough interest will be able to run a full course.
We've also got a number of other free fitness & health courses starting across Stoke including Chell, St Michaels Church, and Tunstall, Christ Church. There's a full timetable here as well as links to the other courses we run around the city:

If anyone has any questions that can call us in the office 01782 831911.
thanks
Clare

Sounds great, run by the Workers Educational Association, OK, no offense, I've never heard of them, but I'm sure they do good work. I'm not in any way knocking what they do, however, with a name like that maybe you might be forgiven for thinking that maybe, just maybe, some of the things they do just might be at a time to suit those of us that work.
Sorry, It's my pet hate, none of the details listed on the page that you're taken to by the link occur at a time to suit anyone that works a full time monday to friday 9ish to 5ish job. (Though I know that many jobs are shift based so they would suit those workers.)
Why am I again left feeling that no-one in this area (OK, fire station excepted) actually thinks about the people that pay the council tax without receiving any benefit on it - The WORKERS. Every workshop, information session, come and try it session, whatever you want to call it, especially those linked to the council, seem to occur on a weekday, usually between the hours of 10 and 12 or 2 and 4.
Those that pay their way can't go. Those that don't, for whatever reason, seem to have access to so many "freebies" It does seem unfair, as it's usually my council tax that's paid for them in the first place.
Sorry - Rant over.
