Stoke on Trent college Jobs and Training Fair Offers Support For Unemployed Looking For Work Jan 28th 2011

Stoke on Trent College is opening the doors of its pioneering training centre in the heart of the city for a Job and Training Fair, designed to offer people aged 18 and over in Staffordshire the chance to get back to work.

Visitors to the event, taking place at the College’s 40 Trinity Street Training facility in Hanley, will be able to find out more about vacancies in warehousing, retail, care, manufacturing and other industries.

They can also gain an insight into the work of the centre and access guidance from employment specialists on a wide-variety of subjects, including CV and interview skills taster sessions.

Information about training courses, one-to-one job search support, life skills training, and advice on benefits will also be on offer.

Taking place on Friday, January, 28, the Job and Training Fair is open for visitors anytime between 10am and 3pm.

Andy Greenhough, Director of Employer Engagement, said: “Hundreds of people have been helped back to work through the support and training offered through the Skills for Employment Provision at 40 Trinity Street Training Centre.

“They are designed to give people the real skills and support they need to get back into the job market.

“This event offers the chance for those who are unemployed to take a look at how we can help them get ready to go back to work.

“Visitors will receive a warm welcome and no appointment is needed.”

40 Trinity Street Training is located in Trinity Street, next to the Walkabout bar.

The facility offers a wide-range of services including job-related training and support, careers advice and a recruitment programme, as well as employability training – including CV production and interview techniques.

Skills for Employment Programmes are funded by the European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency.
