How to Use fix My Street. Tunstall's Pothole's from Hell - Easy guide on how to report them to the council
To start a report, simply open Fix My Street and type the postcode or the street name in the top right corner.

You may be asked to clarify the street name or town, if more than one appears in the fix my street database
Then drag the map until you have the location you are after, and then click the map to locate the point you want to report.
(To drag the map, click and hold the mouse button, and use the mouse/trackpad to move the map in the general direction you want to go [some map reading skills & sense of direction required] )
Fill out the form as shown, picking the right category, and filling in as much info as you can. The form also allows your report to remain anonymous to the users of the website, although your details will be passed to the council.

For example click this link to add a report to the Tunstall's Roundwell Street

Has anyone noticed the work
Has anyone noticed the work carried out last night to the pot holes by Mr Big Deals? One of the worst that I've found, hopefully that will be the end of it.
listening to radio stoke
listening to radio stoke yesterday , there was a story about pot holes -
that the council try to fill in the pot holes within a day of you telling them about it.or even with in 2 hours.
they followed the crew to fill a pot hole .
worth seeing if the council respond as quick when general public report a hole.
from the bbc web site
City council works with public to fix potholes quicker
Two harsh winters have caused problems on many local roads
Some potholes in Stoke-on-Trent can now be fixed within two hours of being reported, according to the city council.
The authority says it is prioritising calls from the public, and have six response maintenance vehicles available.
This means they can currently carry out up to 90 jobs a day.
Bob Brock from the highways department thinks repairs have got faster since they put more trust in the public.
"What we used to do is send an inspector to have a look because Mrs Smith's phoned in the say there's a pothole. And we didn't believe Mrs Smith," said Mr Brock.
"What we found was in over 90 per cent of the cases, it was actually true. So what we decided to do was, why bother send an inspector to check what a member of the public is saying, why not just send the crew and get it sorted."
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has paid out over £600,000 in compensation since 2008 for damage caused by potholes and general highway maintenance.
The authority has said that the last two winters have really taken their toll on the city's footpaths and roadways.
Hiya Dereth I reported the Mr
Hiya Dereth
I reported the Mr Big Deals one straight away as I thought it was particularly bad. On the same day as writing this article. Then to cover things I wrote to Tunstall's 3 musketeers (or Councillors) to which I got a courtesy email from Cllr Ryan, and silence from our two Labour Councillors.
Megan reported that she'd forwarded this on to the relative department.
It's now been over a month and a half and there are still untold pothole littering the streets of Tunstall, the forgotten town by the looks of it.
theres a particulay bad
theres a particulay bad large pot hole on the T juntion of waterloo road and greyhound way - on the way to Hanley from Cobridge its right by the pedestrian crossings-
im going to report it now using "fix my street "and see how long this takes to get filled.
if driven over it, it could cause some damage to your car,
just had email from council offices to say they have recieved my enquiry.
saturday -have driven passed this pot hole on waterloo road this morning and it has being outlined with white paint- so something has been done to it- but not filled in yet, - think it will cause traffic problem when it is filled in .
an email i received today
an email i received today from the council about the reported potholes on waterloo road
"Thank you for your recent email dated 4th March 2011 about the pothole on Waterloo Road T Junction by Greyhound Way on the T/Lights , this has been logged in our system for 10 Day response,"
funny you should post the
funny you should post the above comment, I too logged a "pot hole" earlier in the week and got the same message, lets see if the reported holes are filled in in 10 days! I somehow feel they won't be,
Just to update you all, this
Just to update you all, this system does work as the pothole had a delivery of tarmac about 2 - 3 weeks ago, so it did work, must remember this next year when the road salt causes more potholes.
Radio Stoke are now asking
Radio Stoke are now asking for people to submit photo's of monster pot holes, I think you can put them on their facebook page (I can't post a link as I cannot access from work).
I find it bizzare that councils up and down the country rely on folks to report pot holes. I must pass between 500 - 1000 on my trip to work every day. Are they blind !!
Maybe I need a bigger car with softer suspension.
You think in this day and age
You think in this day and age with GPS built into phones, it would be a simple task of simply downloading one of the many apps from iphones market place, or androids app store and drive around, press a button to record your location, move on and so on.
BBC Radio Stoke, wouldn't you be better off telling people to post the pot hole and picture onto Fix My Street so they can get fixed? Makes more sense to me.
2 area pot holes surprised

One big pot hole. It streches
One big pot hole. It streches from the roundabout by Mr Big Deals to the Roundabout at the top of RMW. I have stopped using that route since all my fillings fell out.
