expansion to dimensions?
As part of the membership to dimensions gym , members can also use Tunstall swimming baths at set times,
Because of the recent news about the closure I asked while at the gym about where would members go to have a swim for free,
A couple of schools swimming pools were mentioned and Fenton baths.
But the instructor didn’t think that the membership would be any cheaper because of lack of swimming facilities or that members would be able to use Fenton baths . And of course no-one knew for sure if Tunstall baths were closing .
It was all up in the air !!!
I said “ that the council have wanted the baths closed for years and one way or the other they would close it”
Then through this chatter he mentioned that the Dimensions front car park had been surveyed a few months ago- with the idea of expanding the pool ,so a descent swimming pool would be added to the fun pool area.
I did see surveyors a while ago on the car park but thought it might be something to do with the pay and display machines .
Has anyone else hear anything about this expansion to Dimensions ?.

There are more twists and
There are more twists and turns to this than a helter skelter. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I were to take on Tunstall Baths as a Big Society project if Dimensions then went and had a new swimming pool built.
The other thing about putting a new swimming pool on the front of dimensions is that it would remove a heck of a lot of the accessible parking.
There is a hell of a lot of people who visit the pool with small children who don't want to be parking around the back of the centre on the top car park with the little un's in tow.
If anything the parking on the front needs expanding a bit more and more room given to each parking space as it's an absolute mare trying to get the little ones into their car seats and plug them in.
Besides, aren't the council on a restrictive budget, with no money to build? Maybe not according to the councils website as they have just bought spode in stoke and are going to invest millions in it.
I'm getting even more frustrated by this council every day. If this is the case why haven't they mentioned it since the threat to Tunstall Pool was first announced.
