Operation Nemesis activity in Tunstall leads to street cautions
Three men in Tunstall have been issued with street cautions for possession of cannabis following the latest police activity under Operation Nemesis.
Officers across the city are continuing to target those involved in drug misuse under the force-wide campaign.
Earlier today, Thursday 3 March, officers from Tunstall Neighbourhood Policing Unit, together with the support of Special Constables, executed four warrants at addresses across the area.
Warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act at addresses in Wade Street, Williamson Avenue, King William Street and Dartmouth Street.
A 22-year-old man was issued with a street caution for being in possession of cannabis at the address in Wade Street, and two men aged 24 and 28, located at the address in Williamson Avenue, were also issued with street cautions for the same offence.
No drugs were found, or action taken against anyone, at the addresses in King William Street and Dartmouth Street.
The operation was carried out following information received from members of the public concerned about suspicious activity at all four locations.
Inspector Mark Hardern, commander of Tunstall Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), said: “Drug misuse can lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour and crime and have a negative impact on people’s quality of life.
“Warrants were executed across Tunstall this morning following information received from members of the public who had expressed concern over the activities taking place at the addresses.
“Staffordshire Police, together with its partners, is determined to bring those responsible for such crimes to justice.”
Anyone with concerns about drugs misuse in their community is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 4455 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
