Tunstall Pool Update
Tunstall Pool Update
Starts
To all current and future users of the Pool and Activity room
Thursday the 31st March is a sad day in the history of our Pool, as it closes after 126 years.
A dedicated group of people are in various discussions with the City Council, the Amateur Swimming Association and other organisations as to the future. We are actively looking at ways forward, including the running the Pool by a Community Trust to serve the people of Tunstall and beyond.
Thank you to all those who completed one of the questionaires, we had over 300 back and your responses have been very helpful in our planning and formulation of Business Plans etc.
We are in the process of compiling a database of those who responded so positively and will keep you up to date with our progress. We are unable to make any firm promises as to the future and a possible reopening but we are doing all that we can, please be patient as a lot is going on behind the scenes, to try and secure a sustainable future for the Pool that we are all so passionate about and is such an important facility in our community.
News and updates will be available via the new website for the Pool – http://tunstallpool.co.uk

To all of those who are
To all of those who are actively trying to rescue the pool, keep on the fight, hopefully with the commitment you have put in over the last couple of weeks we can continue the commitment and manage to get some good news from it, and to prove that Tunstall Pool was worth saving in the long run.

Great, that was £5 the other
Great, that was £5 the other week. So they could have put a small dent in the £2million
Took little one this morning
Took little one this morning for his last lesson (break in swimming lessons) and how nice it was to see the majority of the kids taking "thank you cards" to Mick and Rob, even 1/2 the lesson was dedicated to "play around" as they won't have the option to do this this time around. Our son did ask what would he be doing next Saturday morning (well we could have the paddling pool up in the garden for swimming practice.)
Reps from Fenton / Dimensions were also there although when we left at 9.30am most people had not signed up to the Fenton / Dimensions but had the £8 refund due to the shortened term and left, as we will all be returning to Tunstall when it is reopened as the Trust.
