Alan Dutton - candidate for Burslem Central
Alan Dutton is standing for Labour in Burslem Central ward and has answered the question
"What is your connection to this ward and why have you chosen to represent this ward?"
My connection is that I am a resident of this ward and its issues affect me as they do every other resident. I want to bring the community spirit back into Burslem Central, I want us all to stand together and build Burslem Central back to be the Mother Town of the Potteries not as it has become the poor relation!
I want to bring businesses back into the area, Napoleon called us a nation of shop keepers, you could not say that about Burslem we don't have any, I want proper shops, a Supermarket and a shop where we can get fresh vegetables, I want the Market re-opened, the many knockers and moaners of Burslem say it will cost too much to replace the roof! I say to them there is money out there and people looking for opportunities to invest, we need these people on our side. The job I do at present until I retire in June, is just that, building and developing businesses, getting funding, my current budget at work is £94 million, so the cost of replacing a roof will not deter me.
If elected in May I will dedicate my time to the residents of Burslem Central and between us we will achieve these things, if we all stand together and we all want them bad enough. Talking to residents they do want these things as badly as I do, so together we will achieve them.
This is why I am standing for election in Burslem Central, there as been to much negativity in Burslem, I want positivity and then Burslem Central will come back to life for all our benefits.
