The Bankeyfields Residents Association will me holding their first public meeting of the year on the 17th May 7:00pm over at Sandyford Fire Station.
All residents are required/invited to come along as we've got some very serious and pressing issues that we can only move forward on with help and support from residents.
- Meet our new councillor - Martin Garner. Martin will be coming to the meeting to say hello, get a feel some of our issues, people, and hopes for the future.
- Anti Social Behaviour on the Park
Things are getting worse, serious damage is going on, on the park, spreading towards homes, endangering our kids, attracting a really bad element to the area.
Find out how you can help the police, the council, the RA, and your selves - 20's plenty - Speeding on the
We need to crack on and get the estates support to get the council to impose a 20mph speed limit on the estate. There have been a number of crashes due to speeding, and because of the size of the roads, if these roads aren't more regulated by a slower speed we are going to have a tragedy on our hands. Speeding concerns on Reginald Mitchell Way. - 106 Money and Maintenance
Just before the election we have seen an improvement of the maintenance on the park, but we need to press for the fence repairs, continued maintenance and so on - Problems with the Maintenance Team Procedures - During the past few weeks a serious set of flaws appeared in the councils maintenance departments call out procedures. Calls to have dog poo bins emptied and glass breakages in a child's play area, were logged, passed on, but not actioned. It's not good enough, and we will be pushing for this to be corrected.
- Update on the Flame - Artwork
- Update on Tunstall Pool
- Katy Phair (Council Climate Change Officer) will be doing a short presentation at the meeting.
- Check the site later on for an update......
See you there.

do we have enough people with
do we have enough people with green fingers on the estate to do something about that roundabout, the weeds are poking through
You do not need green fingers
You do not need green fingers you just need weed killer.
It needs landscaping, any
It needs landscaping, any takers? Any low cost ideas?
1 suggestion, if Focus do
1 suggestion, if Focus do manage to continue trading / 1 of the lucky ones to be purchased by B&Q, could a possibility be of approaching them to see if they could provide any low maintenance plants "sponsored by" sort of thing, or whether we could get anything at a discounted price from them.
Council Climate Change
Council Climate Change Officer? Is this a joke? Council Climate Change Officer! How much do we pay for our "Council Climate Change Officer? Talk about jobs for the boys .... or girls in this case. How many more non jobs do the Council still have even after the budget cuts. So, Tunstall pool closes but never mind, we have a Council Climate Change Officer which is far more beneficial to our community!
Peace and Love
Rach lets ask Andy Edwards
Rach lets ask Andy Edwards the new Environmental Officer if the councils parks department could donate any plants and volunteers off both estates could do the planting. It would be a good bit of PR for the council and also bring a few people off the estate together and perhaps get more people involved with the R.A.
Thanks to everyone for coming
