Cllr Lee Wanger taken back into the City Independent Group (Audio with Independent Group Leader Dave Conway)

Tonight Pits N Pots (Tony Walley (he's the guy who apparently has been bullying me - unconfirmed)) have interviewed the new City Independent Group Leader Dave Conway.

Dave Conway the new leader of City Independent Group, has formed the most numerous opposition to the 33 councillor strong labour council with 7 members.

In the interview the new CIG leader Dave Conway speaks about his decision to include Lee Wanger into the group after Lee was expelled from the CIG during his last term in office because of his 2005 conviction.

The move strengthen Tunstall's position in the council as alone Cllr Wanger may have faced a long and uphill battle on many of the issues facing the town, now as part of the opposition CIG councillors have the right to sit on various committees and steering groups.

The group could have been 9 strong rather than 7, but Abi Brown, head of the local conservative group, Pits N Pots reports:

Abi Brown has confirmed that she and new guy 19 year old Jack Brereton will not enter into any formal agreement with the Independents. Neither will she welcome Lee Wanger into the fold.

Good on Abi I wouldnt let Lee

Good on Abi I wouldnt let Lee Wanger into the fold either! I think its a shambles that Tunstall Ward have voted him in. I now his offence was back in 2005 but I still feel that he shouldnt be allowed to represent the people of Tunstall. **** Removed references of this nature as the suggestion isn't in line with the conviction ******

My question posed to the residents of Tunstall is - if they wanted to vote the Independent Party into Tunstall why not vote for Doug Green? There was such a difference between the votes! I'm sure Abi would have welcomed Doug with open arms into the fold!

i have the ideal answer for

i have the ideal answer for this, and i eluded to the point the other week after mr green posted his candidate answers on this forum. looking at his answers i can only conclude he is a bit of an idiot. his answers were a joke, no one would have taken that seriously.
what concerns me greatly is that either our end of the world has been forgotten by the political parties other than labour and interdependent and weve been left high and dry. i was gutted not to have a conservative party member to vote for in my ward, and it then appeared that all of the lib dem candidates were nothing but paper candidates, not hide nor hair of him, no sign of a tory, basically no opposition to split the vote.
