Deputy Lord Mayor Matloob toppled by Tunstall Councillor Lee Wanger
Lee Wanger topples deputy lord mayor Mohammed Matloob (who if won would have become Stoke on Trent Lord Mayor) by a overwhelming margin over second placed Matloob. Wanger took a round 700 votes, by a clear 216 votes.
Wanger, who lost out last May to Cllr Khan (Labour), retakes his seat and is now the single councillor for Tunstall.
Doug Green pooled a relatively respectable 179, despite being a slightly outside candidate, and the Lib Dem paper candidate managed a pathetic 53 votes.
As William Robinson could not be even bothered to produce an election flyer, answer any of the questions on MyTunstall and not even give his apologies for the hustings at Christ Church it is remarkable that 53 people voted for him!
