After working in the local community and raising £140,000 to install a play area at Nash Peake St park I was asked to stand as a Councillor for the ward of Tunstall, this I did and was successfull. So for the last 3 years I have been one of the Councillors for the current ward of Tunstall.

I would just like to tell you of just a few of my accomplishments that I have achieved in this time.

During my time on the Improving Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee I brought forward and pushed through a dedicated night time operations team to supplement the Councils Noise Enforcement Team. This means that where the Council had employed a company to go out to noise nuisance calls, that only monitered the noise, we now have a team that can actually knock on doors and ask people to turn off the noise and also enforce any action that is needed to be taken. This I can tell you from personal experience is a blessing if you have had to listen to extremely loud music day and night.

I have been on the steering group to help improve the parking problems at Westport Lake. We paid for directional signs over the bridge and widening of part of the road which created a few more parking spaces and helps ease congestion down there. Its not perfect by any means but its a start.

I instigated and chaired A Task and Finish group in 'The Quadrant' which is the Bond Street area. Listed are just a few of the achievments from this; 24 PODPA's (prevention of damage by pest act) issued, 3 litter clearances issued. ABC's issued, 159 section 46's issued, which resulted in a 99% reduction in bins being left on the street, bollards installed at Harry Hancocks and the list goes on, there is still work to do there, but we are hopeful that the Selective Licensing will see to that, I have also worked very closely with both The Residents Association and officers of the Council to bring this forward.

I have been instrumental in setting up 5 resident associations, which now brings the total to, including The Out and About club, 10. And I feel that I have worked closely with all of them over the years. We've worked closely with the Police and Council Officers to reduce anti-social behaviour, by organising and funding street games, play services and youth service session.

For the last 2 years I have sat on the Planning Committee and for the last year have been the Vice Chair on the Administration and Appeals Committee, and have taken these roles very seriously. And am also Vice Chair on The Tunstall Park Trust Committee, The Floral Hall Committee and also Goldenhill Community Hall Committee, which keeps me very active in the community.

I have over the last 3 years helped many individuals and indeed made a number of friends .

I sincerley hope I get re-elected so I continue with the work I have done, and if not I can go knowing that I have done some good in the area.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and it has been a wonderful 3 years getting to know you all.

I've just spoken with Megan,

I've just spoken with Megan, and although gutted, she's fine(ish).
Megan has a lot of us under her wing, and really wanted to take G&S to the next level and continue to support us all.

Megan has also been encouraged by the messages of support she's had and will still be working to hand over notes and tasks back to the RA's and groups in the area, so they can continue with the progress.

She will still continue to be on the various community groups in the area so will still be seen knocking about.

To sum up from myself and for the work you've done for the ward and Bankeyfields I'd like to give our thanks to you Megan, the job of a councillor is thankless and it's times like this I realise how much you take someone for granted. All the best.
