Robbie Williams gives his Proxy Vote to the Supporters Club
One of Port Vales major shareholders, Tunstall born Robbie Williams gives his proxies votes to supporters' club
In order to give Port Vale FC fans a voice at the forthcoming EGM on June 1st, Robbie Williams has decided to give his vote to Port Vale Supporters Club.
"The Supporters Club are now responsible for giving the fans an opportunity to be heard at the EGM, and will hold an open meeting on Saturday May 28th at Baddeley Green Working Mens Club from 2pm."
Dave Felstead of the Port Vale Supporters' club added:
We, Port Vale Supporters Club, will seek the views and wishes of our membership, the members of other major Port Vale supporters organisations and Port Vale fans generally on the matters to be addressed at the EGM; and we shall exercise the proxy in good faith in a manner we believe to be in the best interests of the Port Vale Football Club taking full account of the views and wishes of the majority of fans who have expressed their views and wishes to us.
Malcolm Hirst, spokesman of The North London Valiants told OVF:
We will make available to the Supporters Club full details of the comprehensive survey of shareholders we undertook in March. This is the only substantive data showing the views of Port Vale shareholders and fans.We hope the Supporters Club will take due regard of this data when deciding on how to use Robbie's proxy.
This is the first time in the history of this current board that the fans have had an opportunity for their voice to be truly heard. This decision by Robbie stands in stark contrast to the contempt with which the board have have treated fans and shareholders in the last 8 years.
