Is there anyone who reads this site who would like to become a warranted Beaver Leader, we have a pack of Beavers who meet on a Wednesday evening from 6.30pm - 7.45pm who need a warranted leader, ideally to start in September.

If there is anyone who is interested can you please contact me via this site or via the Tunstall Scouts website as the alternative may be to close the Beaver colony which we are trying to avoid.

Hi Rach

I really hope they find someone as the kids always seem to be having so much fun and get a lot from it. The beavers and scout path is a really good way of shaping young men into decent adults.

I wish it was the sort of thing I could do but I'm not really a stand in front of people sort of person. I'm far better sitting behind a PC.

I hope a warranted leader can come forward, as it will be sorely missed. There are other alternatives out there such as Kidsgrove but at the end of the day there is a perfectly good scout group just up the road.

Mark - our beavers meet on a Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.45pm at Walton Scout HQ, aged from 6 to 8 - it is for both boys and girls (although our unit only seems to have boys at the moment).

If you nip over to our website www.tunstallscouts.co.uk you can see some of the activities that the Beavers get up to

We don't meet now until the kids go back to school, 7th September

Hi Rach,
Have you tried the Regional Development Team for help in getting new Leaders? The info centre @ Gilwell should be able to get in touch with them. What have the District said?

Mark - Beavers are for boys and girls from 6 - 8 years.

All the best

Hi 1st porthill

thanks for your earlier posting, however due to lack of support we are having to close our Beaver doors from the end of September, I have sent you a email via your 1st Porthill website regarding any spaces for Beavers you may have.

Many thanks for your response, our District person is coming out to see us on Wednesday to see if there is any help that the District can provide, if that fails I will then contract the information centre at Gilwell as well re the regional development team - we will try anything to keep our unit open.

Rach. do you think it would be worth having a word with Father John from Christ Curch? They run a Brownies Pack from the Church hall and perhaps one of the ladies could come up with an idea for you or is that a no no, just a thought.

I wouldn't mind having a go. Can you email any further details to tommysource@yahoo.co.uk please? Already contacted the scout web site over the weekend but got no response.
