I took the little'un and dog to Bathpool park (Bankey Fields entrance) yesterday.
Seems like a load of wooden fencing has been put up blocking off much of the fields. You can't wander off path, or throw a ball for the dog now.
Does anybody know why?
And another thing. What's with all the Gentlemen parked up in cars alone sitting on the car park? I've noticed it before (during daylight hours I might add), but my Mrs mentioned on Friday afternoon when she took little'un and dog. She said it was very weird?

i agree that is weird. if hes security it should be labeld such otherwise as you think its weird. alot of people park up at that entrance and dont want to have to worry about there car as they take a walk down to bath pool.
Marks as a word of caution
Marks as a word of caution when visiting Bathpool and the car park in question you would be advised to stick to the foot paths and not to go venturing into the trees and bushes around the car park especially with children. Unfortunately this area is a common meeting place for gentlemen to meet up and engage in behaviour that is inappropriate and offensive to a lot of people, it is well known to the Police who occasionally respond to public complaints regarding this inappropriate behaviour. It has also been highlighted as a problem in the local press I believe they have a similar problem at Bradwell woods and at one time it was a problem at Westport Lake before the housing estate was built.
Holy shit really. That would
Holy shit really. That would explain why there's so much barbed wire on the fence. I'll stick to the Kidsgrove entrance in future. Thanks.
I'm glad I only go to the
I'm glad I only go to the Kidsgrove entrance. Mind you one thing they can do to stop this is put cameras up. Imagine the outrage if this was going on near a school? This is exactly the same lets name and shame these weirdo's
I did not know that. I'll
I did not know that. I'll make sure I pedal really fast when I go through. I always thought there was too many cars parked to make sense at the bottom of the a500/bradwell woods to. I just thought it was popular with dog walkers or something. Nearly right I guess.
I used to biking in Bathpool
I used to biking in Bathpool most nights about 10 years ago, and there was always lots of 'encounters' going on in the woods - made my ride worthwhile a few times ;D

you got dragged into the woods by weird men?
Come to think of it, I have
Come to think of it, I have taken my toddler and dog, on to the first small path off to the right, that goes along the perimeter fence with some farm land, under tree’s where the path undulates. You can see some cows, sheep, and lone gentlemen wandering around alone (not even a dog) looking out of place.
It worries me that so many
It worries me that so many people did not realise what is actually going on at Bathpool and Bradwell woods I always thought it was common knowledge. This just goes to show how important this web site is for circulating information regarding issues that concern the surrounding area. I would also like to see the notice board brought back on to the estate but recited near the park perhaps near to the entrance at the top of John Rhodes Way.

I'm not surprised the travellers didn't stay long around there.
Notice board has been found in stores, and hopefully will be back soon.

Hi Matt, It is commonly known
Hi Matt,
It is commonly known as a Dogging Hotspot !!! ..
I regularly cycle through
I regularly cycle through Bradwell wood at various times to and from work and see this all the time. Last week there was one bloke sat naked waiting for his next encounter. If they want to get up to this sort of stuff , why don't they do it in the privacey of their homes. Or is it they don't want their wives to know they are closet gays?
We used to take our dog for
We used to take our dog for walks around the Peacocks Hay/Bathpool area and always thought it was popular, the car park was always full, I am gobsmacked with this story I never knew why it was so popular I always thought they were walking or fishing the pool but never untill now wondered where the people were how naive is that. Just a thought does it have anything to do with the name of the areas referal to the Male Member????? do you think.
Evening all I'm John Collins
Evening all
I'm John Collins - a radio reporter for BBC Stoke.
I'm looking to compile a piece on the recent 'goings-on' in and around Bathpool Park.
I'd be very interested in speaking with some of the posters on here about what they've seen in the area over recent months.
If any of you would like to speak to me - either give me a call on 01782 2212169 or email me at journojohn@gmail.com and I'll arrange to come down to the Park to talk to you.
Hope to hear from some you soon.
John

Yeah, yeah very funny. I'll have you know I've never once had a ColleyWobble (use your imaginations) peering through the misty windows of parked cars
Should the police and council
Should the police and council do more to stop the inappropriate behaviour that is going on down at Bathpool at the Chatterley Valley entrance and car park. What do you think should be done, would you like to see the police patrolling the car park more often or would you like to see the council cut back the trees and bushes around the car park making the area less appealing for this sort of behaviour?
So what’s the idea behind
So what’s the idea behind putting the fence up? If its so we don't innocently stumble across some Gentlemen behaving inappropriately?
Surely reducing the access to the general public therefore encourages inappropriate behaviour?
BJ-DJ yes something should be done, although sitting in a car and wandering around isn’t breaking any laws, a police presence may act as a deterrent.
