Yesterday Signal Radio announced they will be commentating on every Stoke City game this coming season on the FM frequency.
Yet there will only be updates on Vale & Crewe on Signal 2 but with no commentary.
Now forgive me if I'm wrong but a couple of points here that doesn't seem right or fair.
- What about the listeners who don't like football they will either have to listen or tune in to another radio station.
- Surely a radio station that covers Staffordshire & Cheshire should cover all 3 teams equally not just those that are in the st ST4.
I may be wrong but surely the smaller clubs need the extra revenue and maybe this should of been a thought.
Just wondered what peoples comments are on here?

I've got one problem with an out right ban of Signal Radio. My car's radio is on the fritz and I can't listen to Radio 1 until I'm out of Stoke.
But I'm never very impressed when I listen to signal, it just doesn't engage me at all, especially in the morning, I just get annoyed with the presenters.
Aren't most of the shows now generated out of the area and just the odd bit of news and travel is piped in to make it regional?
It says alot about the game when teams are clutching for radio money (not even tv money). I worry that the whole lot is about to implode. Look at Man Spew, they own 1/2 a billion!
if it gets them more
if it gets them more listeners then its not a bad thing
Hows it going to get them
Hows it going to get them more listeners to me they will lose them.

Signal Radio are just in it
Signal Radio are just in it for popularity. Personally I am a BBC Radio Stoke listener, and their coverage of local teams is really good. I really enjoy the 'Praise & Grumble'
Signal Radio as far as I am concerned is for kids and all they play are head banging tunes and is overpopulated with advertising and cliché radio jingles.
The station is a complete yawn. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I will stick to Radio Stoke and it's sensible balance of news, talk, sports and music.
After all I am a miserable 43, bald bloke who has little daytime fantasy's about Paula White!!!! Sad I know, but true.......
I'd listen to Radio Stoke
I'd listen to Radio Stoke more because they have some good local discussions. The music puts me off though, it's just not me.
You hit the nail on the head
You hit the nail on the head Signal radio is in St4 so why shouldn’t they give Stoke full coverage. I bet if there was a radio station in Burslem/Tunstall they would do the same.
Firstly if that is the case
Firstly if that is the case maybe they should remove the slogan Across staffordshire & cheshire and secondly there is a radio station 6 towns in Burslem that gives all the teams the same amount of coverage.
Totally agree that signal
Totally agree that signal radio is pure drivel. I listen to radio Stoke mostly as it is topical and keeps you up to speed on local matters. The only gripe I have with radio Stoke is the coverage of Crewe games. Crewe comes under the Granada region and BBC North West so why does radio Stoke presume they are a local team.
I would think since signal is
I would think since signal is a commercial station it is all about business I am not sure but thay may have paid stoke so they can report live from the match.
And from a business point would it be worthwhile to report live from the vale matches i thnks not and before anybody says i support vale but understand how business run it all about making money at the end of the day.
