Haywood Engineering College students worked with the Burslem fire station to design the gates for the memorial garden, this was done as an extra curricular activity.

The students were, Emily Simpson , Jack Hough, Rebecca Chawner, Harriet Ford and Arron Turnock.

Burslem's new Fire Station on Hamil Road , cost £2.2 million and became operational on the 19th of August – almost a year after the old one was knocked down.
The station is one of seven existing stations in Staffordshire to be rebuilt as part of the multi-million pound project.
Alongside its new state-of-the art facilities, Burslem station also has a community room that seats 18 people, which is available to book free of charge.

I'm really proud of our Emily and the other pupils from Haywood Engineering College I think they've put a really nice design together, one the new station can be proud of.

Well done great to see the youth of today involved in projects like this. These are the sorts of projects the council need to look at, getting kids involved with community projects and giving them recognition for a job well done.
