MakeItStoke - don't over look Tunstall, we've still got at lot to offer as a town, and a work force

I've just been having a nosey at the MakeItStoke website after seeing a bit of chatter of it on facebook.

What I saw surprised me at first, as although some of our potential sites feature high in some material but when it comes to putting us on a map we've been declassified.

As well as the controversial change to the location previously known as Hanley, now to be known as Stoke-on-Trent City Centre (I think Hanley is easier to say), it looks like Tunstall has been rebranded to potential investors and it's now being shoved under North of the City.

Considering the Tunstall area is the home of one of the worlds most prestigious pottery firms Churchill, houses the worlds greenest warehouse, has land ripe for development down the newly created Tunstall Northern bypass we'd get a bit of a mention.

Just because we are in the north of the city doesn't mean we need to sweep our town under the carpet,

At the meeting about the Tunstall's latest sculpture to be housed on the Goldendale hill a chap named Paul said this was a fantastic opportunity to advertise the workers of Tunstall and the ones desperate for jobs and want to show our willingness to work.

I was having a look at this

I was having a look at this site today, because as part of Budget Consultation the City Council is proposing to take on another Officer on £50,000 a year to deal with

"the lack of wider leisure opportunities and non-retail uses including hotels and restaurants in the city centre has been one of the hindrances to a thriving city centre." "This additional post will work alongside the existing team but with a specific remit to address gaps in city centre"

Wondering if this may free up staff to look at development plans for Tunstall with prospects that Morrisons may bring (reminder chase up Council over emails from October)
