the National Memorial Ardoretum is the UKs year-round Centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice,and fosters pride in our country.
the vision is to create a world-renowned Remembrance Centre worthy of those who gave so much to our Country.

Gosh Dereth you only spent the morning there? the last time we were there it was an all day event and I dont think we saw half of the memorials, We have been several times over the years and of course it changes as it is added too because it is always work in progress. Unfortunately. I say that because there is always a War or Conflict going on in the world that has to be recorded and remembered.

i agree Sue you can spend the whole day there and more and not see everything.
unfortunately we could only spend the morning there this 1st visit.
according to the 4th edition guidebook there are 430 memorials within the 152 acre site,and 50,000 trees, a wild flower meadow, wildlife lake,a river walk.
our guide mentioned that they do have lost visitors at closing time from time to time due to the amount open space there.
the Arboretum have a number of mobility scooters that can be hired for £5 per visit, so if you think a visit is impossible you have this option, i will be taking my parents who will need this service.
