Trampoline classes starting in the New Year

Six week courses starting 7 January 2012
There will be two trampoline courses starting every Saturday at Dimensions in January – one for children aged 5-16 and one for children and adults with physical disabilities. Chinese New Year
The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery
Sunday 29 January, 10.30am – 4pm
Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with a range of traditional Chinese dancing, demonstrations and craft activities. The festivities begin with the colourful dragon dance, performing to the sound of firecrackers. There will also be lion dancing, ribbon dancing, Chinese acrobats, martial arts displays and much more. Children from the local Chinese community will also be performing traditional music and dance in the theatre and there will also be a short recital of Cantonese Opera. Stoke Your Fires is back in the spring
10 - 24 February 2012
Stoke Your Fires, the festival of the moving image, is now in its fifth year and the 2012 festival is set to be the biggest and best yet. There will be three screening venues and a fantastic training programme, including two of the world’s most renowned documentary film makers, as well as their core programme of screenings, workshops, community engagement activities and Awards. Olympic Torch Relay comes to Stoke-on-Trent

We are delighted to announce that Stoke-on-Trent will host one of UK’s 66 evening celebrations for the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. The city council is honoured and privileged to host this event, which will see the sacred Olympic Flame pass from one Torchbearer to another. The Closer to Home Walking Network deliver a comprehensive walking programme that targets specific areas and population groups in Stoke-on-Trent. These short health walks are led by experienced volunteers, are completely free and take place every day around the city’s beautiful parks and greenways.
