Jubilee Woods Community Tree Planting Day 4th Feb 2012
On Saturday 4th February 2012, the woodlands trust are inviting you to help us plant one of our exclusive Diamond Woods in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 4th February from 10-12pm .
The new wood is located between Turnhurst, Packmoor, Great Chell, Fegg Hayes and Oxford just off Biddulph Road, for maps and directions, please contact Dominic Sweeting on dominicsweeting@woodlandtrust.org.uk.
To celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's historic 2012 Diamond Jubilee we want millions of people across the UK to come together and plant 6 million trees, creating hundreds of Jubilee woods and 60 exclusive Diamond woods.
Come along and be part of history
By helping plant this wood you will be part of our ambitious Jubilee Woods project, which aims to create 60 new Diamond Woods, each of at least 60 acres, to celebrate the Queen's 60-year reign.
The event is suitable for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and wants to play their part in creating a living legacy that will be enjoyed for generations to come. Children are especially welcome but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Mud will be plentiful, so please bring your Wellington boots or stout footwear, gardening gloves and wear warm, waterproof clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day. Spades will be provided but if you have your own, please bring it along.
Car parking is limited so please walk, car share or use public transport where possible. Bus routes 7A and 99/99B pass along Biddulph Road. The site is a large open green space, clearly visible from Biddulph Road; ask the driver to drop you near the junction with Oxford Road. For sat nav users; ST6 6TU is the nearest postcode to the planting site.
We look forward to seeing you on the day.
