Armed robbery in Stoke
Detectives in Stoke-on-Trent are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at an off-licence.
Three male offenders entered Bargain Booze, on London Road in Oakhill, just after 9.30pm last night, Thursday 26 January. One male was armed with a screwdriver.
The offenders threatened the two female staff working in the shop, but fortunately they were not injured.
The men went on to steal a quantity of cash and fled the shop on foot towards Trent Valley Road, Oakhill.
All three males were wearing dark jackets, with hoods that covered their faces.
An investigation into the incident is now underway by detectives, who are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry including taking witness statements, a forensic examination of the scene and gathering close circuit television (CCTV) footage from the locality.
Officers are also appealing for anyone who saw the males in the vicinity of Bargain Booze, Trent Valley Road and London Road, Oakhill before the robbery, or when they left the scene, to come forward.
