Police Update on Stanfields
Police Update on Stanfields RTC - Injuries NOT believed to be life-threatening.
A 12-year-old boy is receiving hospital treatment after he was involved in a collision with a police car on Tuesday evening, 12 January.
The collision with the pedestrian happened in Thornley Road, Stanfields, Tunstall, shortly before 7.30pm. The boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Chief Inspector Adrian Roberts, Local Policing Team Commander for Stoke North, said: "The police car was responding to assist with an incident at the time of the collision. A full investigation into the collision has already begun.
"The safety and well-being of the boy is our top priority and his family are being offered our full support."
Thornley Road, at its junction with Sherwin Road, was closed while necessary inquiries are carried out at the scene.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 596 of 10 January.
Thanks for the update Stoke
Thanks for the update Stoke Police. When I first saw the reports I feared the worst.
Fingers crossed for the the young man and hope makes a full and speedy recovery. I can remember when we heard the news that my Brother had been run over on Newchapel Road, in Kidsgrove, and it's one of the worst experiences racing to the scene, so in the same respect my thoughts are with the boys parents.
This must be the worst part of Policing and being an officer, when you're doing your job and innocent bystanders get hurt. It must be hard getting back into the job and behind the wheel after incidents like this happen.
There was a lot of police activity in the air around about 7:30, was the police chopper following the same incident around Reginald Mitchell Way and possibly the back streets of the north of the town?
lets hope hes ok.i saw people
