Speed camera on the A527, Brindley Ford, vandalised
Safety First...Just before Christmas the speed cameras on the A527 in Brindley Ford were bought back into action and loaded with film, in order to help reduce speeding through the village. Some motorists don't even bother to stop for people using the crossings.
Within a couple of weeks, late one night, 3 mindless idiots decided to vandalise one by smashing the camera lens, climbing on top of the caseing and pouring petrol over it. Then trying to set it on fire. They then left the scene of the crime laughing, and headed back along the cycle track. Replacing the speed carera with cost about £2,000. Something we all have to contibute towards. The crime was reported to the police. If anyone knows anything that can help identify the people responsible please inform Tunstall police.
