Tarporley Village - a successful busy high street
on a recent visit to Tarporley in Cheshire it was a lovely surprise to see a traditional village high street, not only are the houses/shops picturque the local residents there seem to have won alot of awards for excellent community spirit and best kept village .
the village would be perfect for a TV location setting for a Regency costume drama ,
But they have proper indepentant shops, along with post office , a library and a fire engine museum
there was afew high priced clothes shops ,a pub dating to the 16th century and they have a farmers market but no charity shops, no bargain booze, no pound shops, didnt see fast food takeaway either . what a lovely change from the same sort of shops that we have here in the local towns .
theres also free car parking along the shopping/main road area and 2 large car parks again free to park,

It is indeed a nice village.
It is indeed a nice village. Unfortunately strangled by cars and crap parking. I had to work all around there recently and to say that it did my head in would be a understatement. A nice village wrecked by cars.
