Highways modifications to Reginald Mitchell Way

During our last Bankeyfields Residents Association meeting , in attendance was  Chief Inspector Adrian Roberts ( Chief Inspector responsible for Local Policing in Stoke-on-Trent North) and Goldenhill & Sandyford Stoke-on-Trent Councilor Martin Garner.

One of the topics raised in detail was our worries about speeding on Reginald Mitchell Way, and also the lack of lane discipline leading to a serious road rage incident in the latter part of 2011, on the roundabout by the cemetery.

Since the meeting in Jan, Cllr Garner has been taking our debate to the Highways agency which has resulted in a number of immediate alterations.

  1. New 30mph signs to replace the old tired signs installed back in the previous millenium. The new signs are bigger and brighter.
  2. Lane markings on the approach to the Reginald Mitchell Way/Chatterley Valley Road roundabout have been repainted
  3. Highways are now going to liase with Chief Inspector Roberts, who will hopefully include PC Talbot in these discussions to improve the confusion on this roundabout.

During the meeting Inspector Roberts also promised the polices assistance in reducing the amount of speeding on Reginald Mitchell Way with ongoing speed reduction exercises.

Recent speed reduction patrols have netted over 150 warnings, cautions and fines.

RE:Lane markings on the

RE:

  1. Lane markings on the approach to the Reginald Mitchell Way/Chatterley Valley Road roundabout have been repainted:

I have seen these and thats great, but what about repainting the lane guideance markings actaully on the roundabout which have all but, dissapeared?

They used to be there and there are visable markings ( only just ) on the roundabout?

That is what should of been done instead of the markings to the approach of the roundabout?
