Mothers Day, 10th March 2013 - Gift, cards and flowers guide to Tunstall

This Sunday (18th March 2012) is Mothering Sunday, a Christian festival (well a Pagan festival incorporated into the Christian Calendar) to celebrate motherhood.

A trip around Tunstall Market this weekend yielded a large amount of gift ideas for presents for my Mum, and for the wife from the kids.

Our trip took us around Tunstall Market and the Tunstall High Street.

The main part of the trip took us around Tunstall Market. There are so many unique stores in there you’ll have absolutely no problems finding your perfect mothers day gift.

Want perfume, try S.J Cosmetics at the back of the market, they’ve got a good range of perfumes. Opposite is House 2 Home which includes the wonderful “The Picture Frame Stall”. Taking up a complete side of the market and a shop on the high street this collection of businesses offer a wide range of items ideal for mothers day from flowers, decorations, picture frames (including mum themed frames) and more.

Lover of bags? Try the Bag Stall near the entrance of the market. Next to Bag Stall is Message in a Bottle. At message in a Bottle you can choose from one of the many bottles in stall, choose your contents from Fine Wines, Spirits, Liqueurs or from sweets or bubble bath. The Bottle can then be personalised. I’ve personally used Message in a Bottle a number of times and the gift has always been very well appreciated.

There’s more, Fabric Lane Curtains, Crystals 4 U, Jewellery Box,Ye Olde Teddy Bear Shoppe are all worth a visit.

The item on our list we couldn’t forget was a card. If you can’t get a card in Tunstall, you’re really not trying with 4UCards on the high street,  Elaines Greeting Cards in Tunstall Market , Veg 4 U high street Goldenhill and ASDA Tunstall

If it’s more of a treat rather than a gift, then a great  place to start would be with the nail and facial treatments over in Tower Square with  Beauty on the Square or opposite The Loft for that special hair booking..

Finally, one last bit of advice from Hazel at Fabric Lane Curtains is don’t forget the flowers.

If you are keeping it local then please check out  Veg 4 U Goldenhill High Street,   Daisy Chain Florist  High Street , Copes Florists Roundwell Street.

Happy Mothers Day this weekend.

Thanks a lot for all this

Thanks a lot for all this useful info,I never new the message in a bottle store was in the market,I always try and buy most things in and around Tunstall as it is important to support local shops, its great that My Tunstall is showing what is around the local area. I have always thought Tunstall is an ideal place for small little shops alongside the big stores, but to keep them we have to support them,so before you go up to Hanley try out Tunstall first, and keep our town vibrant

Cheers Max, have I missed any

Cheers Max, have I missed any other stalls out? I know there is a jeweler shop in Tunstall but I haven't had chance to go in yet.
