Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent families are in for a huge treat when one of Europe’s biggest circuses comes to town.

The Netherlands National Circus will set up its Big Top at TRENTHAM GARDENS for performances from TUESDAY 20th to SUNDAY 25th  MARCH.

The huge all-human circus comes to Stoke at the start of a major British Tour.
The Dutch believe their national Circus company is simply the best  -  so much so that it’s claimed to be every Dutch child’s dream to star under its magnificent Big Top! The Netherlands National Circus has been the pride of Holland since it was established in 1948.

The Circus's public facilities are more like a portable Theatre than a circus, and the performance standard maintains the high level you'd expect from a respected national institution.

A circus spokesman commented:

It‟s marvellous to be on tour here with such a special show.

This Circus is from Holland, but the idea of circus performance was a British invention, and the circus is close to people's hearts everywhere”.

He added: „We‟re helping families fight back against the cost of living -- seat prices are  competitive, and travel costs are low because WE come to YOU!

There are no animals, and innovation and quality are at the top of the agenda for the  international company of human performers.
  • Nice and funny  -  Clown ANGELO
  • Princess of Balance DESIRÉE
  • The FLYING ACES triple-level aerial daredevils
  • Springboard acrobats the CRETZU TROUPE
  • Stylish elegance: CAROLINE on the swinging trapeze
  • DAVID ROBERT defying gravity on the rola-rola
  • Unique unicyclists THE JACKSON FAMILY
  • and a full International supporting company in a dazzling show for all the family

Wow. That's my review of the

Wow. That's my review of the circus acts we watched this afternoon. Wow, wow, wow.

There were no dancing horses or leaping dogs, just none stop human performers at the very top of their game performing breath taking routines and dare devil stunts.

The highlight of the show for me though was the trapeze artists the Dare Devils. The show they put on was incredible, the number and variety of leaps they did made you shout out loud with out even realizing it.

Not to say the other acts weren't good, they were fantastic and jaw dropping to.

Then there was Angelo the circus clown. Angelo is the  glue for the entire show, and brought the audience into the performances.

Talking of audience participation, I   was unfortunate  lucky enough  to be picked as Angelo hunted through the audience for his second act show. For some reason I didn't for a second think he'd pick me out to join three other members of the audience.

The others were given a hat, a shawl and a gun. I was given a movie production clapper board. Followed by a Tu-Tu and bunny ears, and when shown my part I could have legged it. Prance across the show areana and twizzle my arms and open and close the clapper board. SEVERAL TIMES! To be honest the rest was funny, just not the tutu wearing prancing part.

There is one more day left, before the circus leaves town and if you want some genuine entertainment, give it a shot.

Got to agree with Matt, the

Got to agree with Matt, the show was awesome.  The trapeze act was definately the highlight of the show. I was a bit unsure how a circus could function without any animals but am pleased to say that it worked well. My three grandchildren loved the whole show. Though my grandson did comment on one dodgy bloke in a pink tutu. Yes Matt we were at the 1400 show lol. And thanks to  mytunstall for running the competition that I was fortunate to win.
