A man has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Staffordshire this morning (Thursday 16th August 2012 ).
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Turnhurst Road in Chell, Stoke on Trent at approximately 7.20am this morning.
An ambulance and a paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle were dispatched to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a car that had been in collision with a tree. The car had suffered significant front end damage.
“The driver, a man believed to be in his early 20’s, was treated at the scene for facial, wrist and leg injuries. The man, who was the single occupant of the vehicle, was fully immobilised and conveyed to University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.
“Due to the nature of the incident the hospital was pre-alerted and medics were on standby awaiting his arrival.”
