‘A Christmas Song’ - An evening with Wendy Cope
Friday 7 December, 7.30pm
City Central Library
Stoke-on-Trent Libraries will be welcoming award-winning contemporary English poet Wendy Cope next month when she hosts a special evening at the City Central Library. In an ambience akin to a cosy fireside reading, Wendy’s wry, ironic and sharp poetry will charm and amuse. 'A Christmas Song' will explore her poetry based around the festive season. Tickets cost £4.50 and are available to purchase now from City Central Library or by calling 01782 238455.
City Music Service’s Christmas Swingalong

Tickets are now on sale for a series of Christmas concerts which will showcase some of the best young musicians in Stoke-on-Trent.
Hundreds of young people will take to the stage over the three nights including from the City Songbirds. the City Youth Training Choir
and City Youth Choir, The City Young String Orchestra and the City Youth Wind Orchestra. The Staff Rock Band will also be performing.
Tickets cost £6.50 for adults, £5 for children and £18 for a family ticket for two adults and two children. They are available from the Regent

Save the date… Stoke Your Fires
1 to 5 March 2013
The 2013 Stoke Your Fires Film Festival will be returning to the city next year. Planning is already well underway for the full festival programme and organisers will be releasing more details about film screenings, activities and workshops in the near future. The festival award programme is now open for submissions. This year, there are seven categories across the world of film and animation.

StreetGames delivers free sports multi-sports coaching to young people aged 8-18 in Stoke-on-Trent. Closer to Home walking events around the city
The Closer to Home Walking Network deliver a comprehensive walking programme that targets specific areas and population groups in Stoke-on-Trent. These short health walks are led by experienced volunteers, are completely free and take place every day around the city’s beautiful parks and greenways. Walks usually last between 30 and 45 minutes and are for all ages and abilities. They also have a programme of special events over the Easter holidays.
