Does anyone know the story behind these concrete shafts at the back of Pinnox Street and Brown Hills Road?

Local photographer, Mark Mcdonald took these photos but is unsure? Mark entitled his post "thing"

some planet of the apes monolith sticking out of the side of a hill. no idea what it is...

Can you help?

HI Matt.....when drains are

HI Matt.....when drains are installed and there are expecting future devlopment or ground to sink sucjh as rubbsih tips...

What you can see are Rcp sections... (reinforced concrete pipe) at the top is called the bench which is what the brickwork can be installed to house the manhole cover and riser. so simple terms a manhole...now it may of been risen like that as more tipping was expected or..the ground have sunk around it. tou can see the section here
