Scammers are phoning residents purporting to be from the Pension Helpline and claim that you are due a £1,000 pension bonus. Callers may be able to provide you with some details such as your name and address. In some instances, you are asked to press ‘5’ or ‘3’ to hear more or ‘9’ to terminate the call. All calls are attempting to obtain personal and banking details. Pressing a digit to ‘hear more’ or to ‘unsubscribe’ may lead to connection to a premium cost line, and any response may lead to your details going onto the ‘Suckers List’ to receive more scam calls in the future. Do not press any numbers but terminate the call immediately.
