Douglas Macmillan Hospice supporters will have chance to dedicate a candle to a loved one as part of this year’s MINI Moonlight Walk.
The Candle Shop at Trentham have given the Hospice 2000 candles which people can dedicate as part of their registration for the event for a minimum donation of £3.50.
The MINI Moonlight Walk takes place on Saturday 13th July starting from Fenton Manor Sports Complex, and they will embark on an eight mile trek through Stoke on Trent.
Walkers will also pass the Hospice en route where the candles that have been dedicated will be on display for all to see.
Daniel Hunter from The Candle Shop commented,
“We have chosen to support the Dougie Mac MINI Moonlight Walk as they are local and do a fantastic job caring for those facing a life limiting illness.
“We feel we wanted to give something back to a very worthwhile cause. From our own personal experience of a loss of a family member the Dougie Mac offered support.
“Even though time has moved on for us we don’t want to forget the great work that the Hospice does.”
Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising said,
“We would like to thank the Candle Shop at Trentham for supporting our MINI Moonlight Walk.
“The money raised from supporters dedicating a candle will help the Hospice to continue to provide the highest level of care for local people of North Staffordshire facing life limiting illnesses.”
Supporters have until Sunday to register for the MINI Moonlight Walk; sign up online at www.dougiemacevents.co.uk.
