Twelve months ago, the Hanley Economic Building Society invited customers to open an Instant Savings Account and the Building Society would make a donation to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice equivalent to 1% of the average yearly balance of each account opened.
At the end of the Building Society’s financial year, a total of £2,512.45 has accrued and this sum of money will be handed over to the Hospice by David Critchley from Blythe Bridge on Saturday 21st September at 12 Noon.
David has been chosen to make the presentation, as he was the 100th Account Customer to open a new Savings Account.
David Lownds, Head of Operations said;
“I am delighted with the number of Hanley savers that have opened a Douglas Macmillan Hospice saver in the first year of the account being available.
There is a real synergy between the Hanley and the Hospice and this has been evidenced by savers who really like the idea of having a safe place to save whilst being able to support such a worthwhile local cause.”
Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising said;
“ We would like to thank the Hanley Building Society for offering this new savings initiative , which has enabled the Hospice to gain additional funds in order that we can continue to provide care for local people of North Staffordshire facing life limiting illness .”
