Last Chance to ‘Dedicate a Tree’ as a Gift before Christmas

view counter

Today is the last day before Christmas supporters of Douglas Macmillan Hospice can dedicate a tree before Christmas.

The unique campaign gives anyone the opportunity to plant a tree in memory of their loved ones who are thought of constantly. Dedications could also mark a special anniversary, birth or marriage.

Dedicate a Tree’ campaign is an exciting project in conjunction with the Trentham Estate to create a woodland in the Trentham North park. This is one of the 60 Diamond Woods which were planted across the country last year to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.

For a donation of £15 supporters can dedicate one of around 10,000 trees. In return for each donation, a tree will be planted and supporters will receive a certificate and details of the woodland. They will also be able to visit the woodland for years to come and watch as the woodland grows and become tomorrow’s heritage.

The funds raised from the ‘Dedicate a Tree’ campaign will help the hospice to continue to care for its patients and their families whilst improving the environment.

Please note trees planted will not bear a personal plaque but will help create a new woodland which can be visited at anytime free of charge.

Liz Clarke, Head of Fundraising commented,

Douglas Macmillan Hospice is delighted to be part of this project to leave their mark on the landscape for years to come.  Giving local people the opportunity to help create a woodland in memories and dedications that not only they can enjoy but future generations.

“All monies raised will help Douglas Macmillan Hospice continue to care for patients and their families at a time when they are most vulnerable.”
