the Mercian Regiment Band will be playing in Tunstall Town Centre as part of the City`s Armed Forces Day Weekend Celebrations. Between 11.00am - 1.00pm the band will entertain with all of the best loved military tunes. Parking is available locally and this concert is free of charge. Come along and support your Armed Forces Day.

 


There will also be an event in Longton Park on Sunday 1st July 2012 which will start at 2.00p.m.

It's an opportunity to do two things. Firstly, to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, Secondly, it gives the nation an opportunity to Show Your Support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families and from veterans to cadets.

Across the country people are getting involved: communities hold local events and business show their support.

This year the National Event will be held in Plymouth, but there are many more events up and down the country being held in support of Armed Forces Day.

did the rain  stay away?

i would have  liked to attend  this  to hear the band but was   cinnamon trust volunteering  elsewhere and got drenched .
