I cannot understand why we have a number of residents associations contributing to this site, and yet unless you seriously dig around the net, cannot find out what they are doing to promote descent communities, and promote this side of the city, I find it very difficult to even find if there is a residents association, or NHW in my area.

Feel let down

Hi, hate to criticise the police, but feel let down tonight, having fell victim to a fallen tree. I was unable to prevent 4 more accidents after my own. The accident happened on the boundary of Staffordshire, and Cheshire border, due to speedy response between myself, and a fellow victim, we managed to move the tree to prevent any serious accident occuring. It took over 20 minutes before there was any police presence, and then there was confusion who's responsibility it was, had there been a more serious accident, i would hate to think what might have happened.

Its finally time to say goodbye, I write this with a heavy heart, as the longest serving resident, will happily pass the baton on. A lot of change has happened in the last ten years, mainly good, some a bit iffy, things seem to to go full circle, remember setting the first NHW, many years ago, when Richard and I banged on doors to drum up some support, he now posts on the site, to the amalgamation of the estates, to support the building of a playground, and many other projects, and concerns residents had.

I would like to take this opportunity to offer my condolences to Freda and her family, Tony was a good friend and neighbour, who will sadly be missed.
It was warming to see so many from this community attend his funeral yesterday, and am sure will offer Freda their support at this time, and in the coming months.

Barlows carpet and Upholstery cleaning

Posted: Fri, 2009/04/10 - 12:30

Hi all
I have had my carpets cleaned by Barlows, they were fast, efficient, and very professional, and their prices are very competitive. I will submit a link into the Bankeyfields directory soon. for all you caravanners out there, need your caravan spring cleaned ready for the season, and whilst the credit crunch is upon us, why buy a new carpet when all it may need is a deep clean.

Before I kicked off the site for good, I would like to say that those moaning about the building of Churchills new warehouse, that they put more than enough application forms up, they advertistised the fact of a new warehouse in the local press, they had a meeting at the community centre, apart from a banner, flying from a plane, cannot believe what more they could of done, could it be we are are a bunch of whingers, but are unwilling to do anything about it, as we are all too busy, YOU DECIDE.

MP visits our estate

Posted: Fri, 2008/09/26 - 19:16

I do not wish to steal web monkeys thunder, but I have come out of retirement to thank our MP, Joan Walley for visiting our estates today, accompanied by Staffordshires new fire chief, Peter dartford, (apologies if I got the name wrong). It was great to see our MP taking an interest on what is going on around our area, and advising how to make this a better place to live. I know that Joan will do her upmost to make this community a nice place to live, but it needs the community to help her, please do not sit on the fence, help in any way you can. Cannot wait for web monkeys pooh incident.
