Cat health warning- Lillies
Dear all,
I would like to raise awareness of a little known potentially fatal poison for cats, that of exposure to Lillies.
Fame at last
At last, some publicity in the sentinel! Apologies for the factual inaccuracies, like the article claiming that CVC has been open since 2001. That should have been that I've been a vet since 2001!
Drew is most disappointed that he has been outted as a 30something, not the 22 that he still thinks he is!
Also, Bella is most disappointed to have been given the Heinz 57 label- thats big sis Millie- Bella is a full pedigree lab!
Baby elephants
Pet Elephant having babies......
Now that I have your attention, I would like to invite everyone to the open day we are having on Sunday afternoon at the practice. It's our pleasure and privilege to be able to open up the entire practice for you to have a look around, and see what all of the fuss (I have created) has been about!!
Not only will we have displays in theatre, and some interesting Xrays on display, but also, we will have a few drug company reps around, as well as all of my own staff to answer any pet related queries.
Another Cat Found!
Hi Everyone,
On my way to work this morning, there was a male, unneutered tom cat lying (looked dead) at the side of the road. I have him at work now- he is alive, but is incredibly poorly- on a drip, and may or may not make it.
He was found at the crossroads where the A34 crosses the A50- between Kidsgrove and Alsager.
I know its out of our patch, but please spread the word among work colleagues, friends, family etc.
Again, he is not chipped, so I have no other way of contacting the owner.
Thanks,
James.
Found- Black Tom Cat
Dear All,
I had a knock on my door tonight, from a young couple on Beaufighter Grive who had found a cat which had been hit by a car. I have taken him to the surgery, and would urge everyone to help find his owner.
He is jet black, young, male entire (not castrated) Tom cat, about 12-24 months old. He DOESNT HAVE A MICROCHIP, and so I cannot trace the owner as quickly as I would have liked. Did he scarper because of fireworks?
2 take home messages:
1) please try to spread the word, and ask the owners to contact me at the practice on 01260 272131.
Fireworks n Pets
Dear All,
Just a quick note to ask you all to give a degree of consideration to the pets of your neighbours during the coming fireworks season. Every year, I see a handful of animals who get so scared that they manage to escape, and some then run into problems with cars etc. A few guidelines, and then some medical options...:
1) If planning to let off fireworks, please let your neighbours know a few days in advance, and ask them to spread the word.
2) If you have pets that hate fireworks, definately do your best to stay in with them as much as possible during the next few weeks.
Apologies
Dear All,
I would like to apologise, a little belatedly, but also in advvance. Those who live next door or very close to me may have noticed a lot of dog whining and barking last night.
TV: A Rubbish Service- Tonight
Did anyone else see on TV this evening the Tonight program, regarding the British waste, which had been sorted by British Householders for recycling, but it ended up being dumped in landfill in India! Right next to a game reserve.
How absolutely disgusting that us selfish, uncaring brits are prepared to dump our trash in an 'out of sight, out of mind' inconsiderate way. The thing that really got my goat was the the representative from the Local Government Association that they interviewed (who happened to be the fattest man I have ever seen) have a particularly blazee attitude about it.
Which phone
I'm due an upgrade to my mobile phone, and am not sure what to go for. I currently have the Nokie E65, and run the Nokia 8800 ojn Vodafone. I;m thnking I need more business stuff, like access to my emails, and possibly the net too.
Blackberry, touch diamond, other- any ideas?
Orange say they;ll give me any phone for free, so that helps!
