Sharky's epilogue
Its finally time to say goodbye, I write this with a heavy heart, as the longest serving resident,will happily pass the baton on. A lot of change has happened in the last ten years, mainly good, some a bit iffy, things seem to to go full circle, remember setting the first NHW, many years ago, when Richard and I banged on doors to drum up some support, he now posts on the site, to the amalgamation of the estates, to support the building of a playground, and many other projects, and concerns residents had. the Nhw has now evolved, mainly due to the web site, thanks must go to web monkey, to taking it to a new, more slick level. Thanks also to the many friends made on the estates, will try to speak to you before I go, thats pretty much it really.
Will leave you with a little poem, that has helped me through the years, inspired by a quote that Tony Cooper and I had became aware of, and have used in our daily lives.
Nil Desperandum
Courage brother! Do not falter,
Dry your tears and cease from sighing;
Though clouds look black, they soon may alter,
And the sun will send them flying.
"Out of evil oft cometh good,"
Is a maxim to my liking;
The blacksmith well the iron beateth,
But 'tis better for his striking.
Work today and give up grieving,
Know that joy is born of sorrow;
And though to-day is rainy weather,
Hap 'twill brighter be to-morrow.
Gambling doth not make our labour
The least bit more a pleasant task;
'Tis joyful heart that lightens trouble,
Contentment brings to those who ask.
First the childhood, then the manhood;
First the task and then the story;
'Tis after nightfall comes the dawning,
First the shade and then the glory.
Woodland Towers, Onchan,
Isle of Man,
23rd October 1904.
Our employment added carborundum to this, but unwilling to add, for family viewing.
Cheerio and goodbye.

So long Sharky
A lot of people may not realise how much Mark "Sharky" has done for both estates.
Without Mark's input there wouldn't have been a Neighbourhood Watch that has been so persistant over issues over the years. But from my point of view, there would be no Bankeyfields community spirit, there would just be isolated pockets of people.
Mark set up the orginal Bankeyfields website, and bulliten board way back when, and for me and other people has been instrimental in both it's earliest form, and current version in bringing people together, helping make a difference, and hopefully better our local knowledge of events and goings on.
Big thanks from me, will miss your sharks tails
Take care, and will see you around (on the site too)
Matt
Many thanks
I will appear from time to time, you cannot get rid of me that easily, thanks for your comments, much appreciated, glad to see the site, and the NHW going from strength to strength, I will still do all I can to help you and the residents to help you succeed all that needs to be done, sorry have not been much help just lately, but bankeyfields is, and will always be a part of me.
