Over the past few days I've been working on a mobile version of the MyTunstall website. A lot of the bulk has been trimmed away so that you only get the bare essentials. Ideal for when you're out and about and want to check the website out quickly and easily.
At the minute, I've added the main home page list of latest stories and a slimmed down version of the business directory.
I've made an improvement to the user profile page, which I should have really done a long time ago.
Basically, the user profiles are a lot more visible now, and make it easier for people to see what options are available to them when they visit a users profile.
For example, if you want to follow a user, then in the green box, simply click follow user.
6 Towns Radio is a new community station based in Burslem Stoke-on-Trent, broadcasting on the Internet initially while they apply for FM licenses from Ofcom.
The station will start broadcasting with a full daytime schedule in mid September.
Shows will focus on Stoke-on-Trent community interests, politics, music, chat and goings on.
I've killed off the old events system, it was doing my head in. If you wanted to put an event onto the site, you'd have to add an event, and then because it was tucked away, if you wanted people to see that event, I'd normally add it again as a forum post.
Well, no more. I've done away with events completely, they are no more, finished.
Hopefully by now, you will have had time to checkout the updated display of latest forum and blog posts on the home page.
In an attempt to make forum posts stand out, I made the system start showing 1 image if it had one attached, when displaying on the home page. This won't effect posts that don't have a attached image.
Just wondered if anyone had any feedback to some of the recent tweaks to MyTunstall.
I've done away with the right hand menu, that zipped open when you hovered over it, and moved all items into main menu across the top. Most of the items went under the Start icon.
I've also added some colour to the menu, has any one noticed any differences? Did it help you pick out different sections.
