Bring back the gritters Part 2

I found the roads to be very dangerous over the past few days. The mini roundabout and the roundabout of death pull off were particually terrifying.

Good to see people power got the gritters back on the estate

Thanks to everyone who contacted the council about the gritters.

The grit boxes are full and Monday night, the gritter was about at about 3am and then 8:40am.

John Rhodes Way has no snow on what so ever, whilst the last bit of spitfire way (could be more, I only nosed at where the car crashed through the snow) had a thick layer of ice on it.

Wa-hay....! I saw the gritter at 840, and was expecting him just to do the bottom little piece, but was amazed to see him go all the way to the top of the road and beyond.

Result!

Popeye does Mustang

Well they only came part way up Mustang so Popeye went out and got a couple of buckets full of grit from the bins and just to prove chivalry is not dead drove slowly along whilst his lovely wife spread the grit by hand. Ever helpfull I enquired if she was feeding chickens. Unfortunatly as this is a family site her reply is not suitable for this forum. Thank you Mrs O

You can all call me blind if you like, but I do tend to keep an eye on the cars on the road and looking for any children/animals appearing from behind all the parked cars on the road, but, I haven't noticed any salt bins. Could someone please tell me where they are located, maybe I'll even use them myself if this chill goes on any longer Wink

I am sorry but i have to

I am sorry but i have to keep her in shape, over the winter there is not so much natural exercise for her, i cant stand her putting on a few more pounds every winter, i have told her she needs to exercise and not just her jaw......

Good job she does not look at this site........

Cars

Can I ask what the deal is with cars parked in Spitfire Way? I understand that driving conditions are a little more difficult at the moment and people have to get to work, but this is also the case for the majorty of the people living on the estate, and they have no problem so why is it different for others????? I can only suggest that these inconsiderate few are inexperienced drivers and don't know how to drive in Wintry conditions. Perhaps they should enrol in a crash course on how to handle the road.........

mustang

I think the cars belong to drivers from mustang close. It's quite probably the steepest road on our estate.

Spitfire

I think WM you had better get your facts correct before you say anything.....

As i live in Mustang i can assure you that most of these cars are definately not from Mustang..

I think people maybe expexting worse conditions and are parking there so they can get out in the mornings.

They can not get into and out of the estate for whatever reason poosibly down to not really having to drive in the conditions like we have at the moment for some considerable time.
