Queensland Residents Association Tunstall 07743 147211
After an open public meeting at the Floral Hall, Victoria Park. Tunstall, in Aprill 2008
The Association was formed.
Residents chose to call the association Queensland after a property in May Avenue.
The property is considered to be the oldest house in this area of Tunstall. Built in 1904.
This property is believed to have been designed by Absalom Reade Wood, who was
surveyor to Tunstall Urban District Council at that time. A R Wood was also the architect
of Victoria Park, Tunstall.
Hence we will affectionately refer to our area as the Queensland Estate in our literature.
We would like to thank Mr. Henshall for allowing us to use the name “Queensland”.
I hope you will give us your support in achieving our aims and objectives.
