OMG sign of the times the
OMG sign of the times the last thing I wanted to do at the end of term was present my teacher with a gift, for gods sake its their job good pay, fantastic holidays, teacher training days , snow days and the rest. I can just see them parading all their gifts in the staff room to see who got the most.

Teachers don't ask for gifts, parents do do it nowadays (in juniors at least) to thanks a teacher if they think they've been able to get through to their little one. These are just gift ideas, no obligatory.
Lastly people tip the binman, milkman, window cleaner, postie, paperboy come Christmas time, why not your kids teacher.
