Motorists are being urged not to panic and to only buy the fuel they need, as more than 600 tanker drivers continue a four-day strike. Are you seeing any effects at the pump?

Is your local petrol station busier than usual? Have you noticed any panic buying? Have you had to queue - or is it business as usual?

Steps to save 1/3 of your fuel when driving

I read this on the net, so most of it is rubbish, but some of these are common sense winners

Step 1: Make your car more efficient.

Keep your tyres correctly inflated. Efficiency Improvement: Up to 3%
Declutter your car. Efficiency Improvement: Up to 2%
Take your roof rack off. Efficiency Improvement: Up to 2%
Turn off the air con. Efficiency Improvement: Up to 8% !!! damn, we've only just got it as well
Don't fill it up - half a tank is better than a full tank as fuel is heavy

Step 2: Drive more efficiently (potential of 60% off)

Accelerate gradually without over-revving.
Drive in the correct gear.
Slow naturally.
Think about road position.

Step 3: BEST BUYS. Cheapest Petrol/Diesel in your area

There's an easy way to find the cheapest forecourt in your area for petrol, diesel and LPG (plus more). Go to the free website Petrolprices.com, register, enter your postcode & tell it how far you’re willing to travel (2, 5, 10 or 20 miles) and it’ll list today’s cheapest petrol stations in your area for unleaded, diesel, LPG and other fuels.
