[img_assist|nid=744|title=No longer Swallow's Rise, It's Buzzard's Brow|desc=Photo of the Bird|link=node|align=right|width=75|height=100]Yesterday evening at about 17.40 I was shouted into the kitchen by the wife to have a look at a large Bird of Prey sitting on our pergola. I grabbed the camera and managed to get a couple of shots. Checking the photo to my bird book the nearest match I could make was a buzzard.
Did anyone else see or has seen before?

Good Picture. Its a Common Buzzard. I have seen a pair flying around here for a couple of years now. Never seen one land in a built up area though. Nice one
That's a brilliant picture.
That's a brilliant picture. The bird has a certain regal quality.
I love posts like this one, out of the blue, but makes your day.
Nice one.

Explains where all of the swallows went.
Is it alright if I pop around and show your buzzard pictures of the wood pigeons.
They are doing my head in trying to next on my sky box and waking the house hold up at 6:30 in the morning.

You will be amazed that there are quite a few around. I used to keep budgies with an outside avairy. I quiet often had these lovely birds visiting the avairy looking for tasty budgies to eat. The wing span on them is awsome and very spectacular. The budgies were always safe, but used to shake them up a bit.
Amazing and rare sight
Amazing and rare sight tonight six of them circling over Chatterley valley. They do not usually congregate unless migrating and as they are resident in the western side of UK this is unlikly to be the case.
White Blackbird ?
Thought I would pick this forum up again as it has a bird theme. In gardens between Shackleton Drive & Mustang Close there frequents a Blackbird with a white patch on the back of its neck and head. I had not seen the little fellow for a while untill this week. He does not like to have his picture taken , as soon as I get the camera he is off.Does anyone know of any other sightings like this or do we have a very rare bird. Anyone else seen unusual wildlife around the estate ?.

Hi Taz
Have you seen your buzzard about recently?
The only reason I ask, we have a dove chick in our sky dish and wondering if it's going to be quick pickings for your buzzard. If you see it keep stum.
