Open Space Maintenance

By

view counter

Spoken to Stoke on Trent Council today regarding the maintenance of the open space below the new park and the small roundabout. I explained that since the council have built and half landscaped this area, no maintenance has been carried out and wanted to know WHY?? They stated the small roundabout has not yet been adopted because there is an issue with seven trent and until they accept this the council will not maintain this area. I was told to contact Stewart Gower the adaption manager of Wood Row has they need to complete issues until seven trent and council accept this. What are these issues.

I was also told that the maintenance of the grass of the open space is maintained by the council but for only 12 months. If you live at the top end of the estate this all looks lovely but for us at the bottom driving onto the estate it looks neglected. Is anyone able to help????

Try contacting Paul Hankey

Try contacting Paul Hankey at the council, I had it confirmed to me a few months back by this man THAT the council had adopted all the land, even though when you phone up sometimes they say it isn't adopted. Depends on who you speak too.

I googled Paul Hankey in google and it brought up some search results, but none of the pages worked when clicked.

However google suggested this info in the results.

HI, If it has been adopted

HI,

If it has been adopted does that mean the council and seven trent are able to crack on with the maintenance of the estate. If they are why are they holding off and telling me it is wood row who need to complete work.

Thanks Geegilly

Geegilly Have you

Geegilly
Have you had any joy yet. The council and severn trent must have adopted roads/drains as this was the final sticking point with the development of the open space and as I stated in an earlier post the roundabout was landscaped in April just before work started on the open space.

Have you managed to get

Have you managed to get anywhere with this issue?

Woodrow would need to

Woodrow would need to complete conmditions before the Council would adopt a road, if these not been meet then the maintance lands on the Residents, speak or look into issue resindents on Churchhil opposite Lidl had wioth getting their estate roads adopted. Maintaince of Open Space is normal governed by S106 agreement where the developer gives council monies for maintaince of open space, if this has been done then Council will have schedule for how often open space is maintain and how, sometimes this may be just cuting grass 2ft either side of public footpaths.

OPEN SPACE

Hi,

Sorry i have not been in contact concerning the open space and mini roundabout. I have been given the run around. I did speak to someone from the council ( a lady ) i no longer have her name has i have misplaced it. The council are still insisting that the land is still under seven trent water and has not yet been adopted. When i spoke to seven trent water they have no issues with the land and need to do no more. I also spoke to Paul Hankey who various people to speak to and all new nothing of the situation. Stewart Gower of Wood Row does not reply to his voicemail and i continue to go around in circles. I will contact the council tomorrow concerning this. Has you can see the grass has been cut on the left has you come onto the estate. If anyone knows anything please let me know.

Thanks
Geegilly

Adoption nearly complete

Hi GeeGilly

The adoption process is nearly drawing to an end, there are just a few minor issues here and there.

I'll try and get the notes from Mondays Neighbourhood Watch meeting today, as it was discussed there.

Cheers

Matt

I noticed this morning on

I noticed this morning on returning from the school run there was a S-o-T worker on top of the mini roundabout, now he was spraying something I suppose we will soon find out if it was miracle grow or maybe they have taken pity on us and just as the weeds are dying anyway thought they should give us some weed killer lol.

Plus if they are saying that part has not been adopted and they only maintain the open space why are they working on it ??

Hiya Tony, thanks for the

Hiya Tony, thanks for the update.

Did you see Cllr Ryan's response to Steve's open letter yesterday? It would be good if as many residents on the estate replied back to the councillors response.

Basically the roundabout department (do they have a round room?) have been approached as a token to appeasement to sort the round about, as according the council the estate "will be adopted in a few months", they might as well make a start now.
