Appeal after robbery in Tunstall 02 October 08

Detectives in Stoke-on-Trent are investigating a robbery at a Tunstall off-licence which occurred at around 9:00 pm, 02 October 08.

Two men in dark clothing entered the Bargain Booze shop in Tower Square in Tunstall Town Centre carrying what has been described as a baseball bat.

The two men ordered the staff to open the tills and they made off with cash and two black plastic till drawers.

None of the staff were injured or assaulted during the robbery but they were left shaken by the experience.

Detective Sgt Mark Staton from Stoke-on-Trent CID said “The offenders also stole the black plastic cash drawers from the till and I believe they will have dumped them somewhere in the area.

"I want to speak to anyone who finds such an item along with anyone who may have been in Tunstall Town Centre last night who may have vital information about this crime.”

FIREARMS officers raided a

FIREARMS officers raided a house in connection with a robbery at an off-licence.

Three men were arrested after armed police descended on a house in Vivian Street in Fenton at about 10.40pm last night.

A 39-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were arrested at the house. Shortly afterwards, officers stopped a car nearby and arrested a 45-year-old man.
