Residents say they are being stranded in their own homes by motorists parking illegally

Shelford Road in Sandyford is a narrow street with a McDonald's and late night corner shop nearby.

Householders say delivery vans and shoppers are pulling up to the store and parking on double yellow lines, often blocking driveways and pavements.

Locksmith Michael Hand, aged 48, has lived there for 17 years. He said: "I have emailed the mayor and the parking department at the council, and I've spoken to the local community police officer, and still nothing has been done.

"People know they can just pull up to buy the paper or pick up something from the shop and they won't get a ticket. On Lottery nights you cannot get through this street.

I was amazed at how much

I was amazed at how much activity there was at 5am today- just as I was arriving home from work, the guy opposite me was on his way to work, and there were 2 or 3 other cars on the roundabout on the estate at the time. Busy little place we have!
