Can anyone remember the name of the shops in the Boulevard in the 1970's. I recall, I think there was a jewellers, a chemist, clothes shop and the Sentinel shop. Can anyone name the shop owners or any other shops of that time that have long since gone. Thank You Trevor

Aye up Trevor. I remember
Aye up Trevor.
I remember that the shop next to the Sentinel place was a (very small) stationers called something like "Lymer and Bossons" or "Lyme and Bossons", it was there for a very long time, run by a couple of old dears. It now sells odd wooden figures
The clothes shop at the other end of the row was called "Naylors" it had an entrance in that row, and another one round the corner set back from the high street in that gap next to the HSBC (or Midlands as it was then)
You are right that ther was a Jewellers but I can't remember the name of it though I do Know that Mrs Tedstone worked there (she was the Mum of a school mate) it is now a wool shop.
The place next door - now a charity shop- was a newsagents for a long time and I think it was a pet shop at some point (or was the pet shop next door in the now empty shop?).
I can't remember there being a chemists in that row (but that might just be me). "The Silver coin" has been there a very long time and was probably there at the time you're thinking of - and I can't remember what it was before it became the silver coin.
Anyway hope that helps a little, I'll add to this if i remember anything else
