Our City July 2010 issue 16
I've just had the very expensive and glossy Our City through the door, and for once I've learnt something from it, other than it's an expensive waste of money.
Apparently Tunstall resident groups have been asked to come up with ways of tackling antisocial behaviour. Really? Because I know we haven't, so what's the crack with that. Write it in the magazine and then organise it?
RESIDENTS’ groups in Tunstall have been asked to come up with imaginative ways of tackling antisocial behaviour. The Safer City Partnership asked communities to suggest projects that could reduce disorder or crime in their neighbourhood.
Around £12,000 worth of funding has been provided. The best ideas will receive a share of the money to put the ideas into practice.
To set the ball rolling, an interactive workshop was held at Norton Cricket Club so members of the public
could get a feel for the kinds of projects that could make a difference.
Ruth Kemp, of the Safer City Partnership, said: “This is a great way of empowering residents and helping them tackle antisocial behaviour in their neighbourhood.”

And the council wondered how
And the council wondered how to save money????
The amount of money that is wasted on not just this, but other publications produced by this council is beyond a joke. I know full well, that on our estates, we do not even receive even half of the stuff that other residents of Stoke on Trent receive. All of which is to some extent, is unneeded. A massive resource of council tax payer’s money is being used to produce these publications which could be diverted to better use. If the council is looking at ways of cutting their costs, then I believe that this is one saving that they can surely make and save the odd forest as well !!!!
